Why do my GA4 properties display as "undefined" in settings?

When you see undefined in your GA4 property selector, it usually means SEO Gets is linked to a GA4 property that you doesn't have access to.

What causes this

The "undefined" label appears when:

  • Access not granted — You don't have access to the linked GA4 property, often because the account providing access to the account hasn't shared access with its SEO Gets team.

  • Property name couldn't load — Google's API returned the property ID but not the display name. This can happen due to temporary API hiccups or permission quirks.

  • Access changed mid-session — If your Google account permissions were updated after you connected, the name may not refresh automatically.

  • Property was renamed or moved in GA4 — Google Analytics property changes sometimes take time to propagate through the API.
