Content Change Tracking
Content Change Tracking is a Super Site feature that automatically records HTML changes on your site — content changes, HTTP status changes, and internal links — for up to 5,000 pages. It presents them in a chronological feed so you can see what changed and when, inspect the before/after state of each change, and cut down on manual annotations.
Content Change Tracking requires a Super Site on the property. If the property isn't a Super Site, you'll see an upgrade card instead of the change list. Only team admins can upgrade.
Open Content Change Tracking
You'll find Content Change Tracking under the Tracking section of a property, alongside your manual notes and updates.
Open the property you want to inspect.
Choose Tracking.
Pick Content Changes from the source picker.
The feed opens with a default date range of 90 days. If the property isn't a Super Site, you'll see an upgrade card instead — click Upgrade Sites now to unlock Content Change Tracking (only team admins can do this).
Narrow the results
Filter the feed by date, page, or type of change to drill into the URLs that matter most.
Date range: Use the shortcuts This Month, This Quarter, 3 Months, Last Month, Last Quarter, or 12 Months, or set your own range. Future dates are disabled.
Page and group filters: Standard page and group filtering stays available so you can focus on one URL or content group.
Event filter: Choose All Events, Content Changes, HTTP Status Changes, Internal Links, or Tracking Changes (started or stopped tracking).
Inspect a change
Changes are grouped by date. The first three date groups are expanded by default; later groups start collapsed — click a group to expand it. Each entry shows up to three affected pages; when more pages are affected, open All pages to see the full list.
Each change describes what happened:
Content changes show added and removed word counts, such as +12 words or -4 words.
HTTP status changes show the new status code and the redirect destination when one is present.
Internal links show inbound links added or removed, with a count when there's more than one.
To see the before/after state, click View Diff on a content change. The diff dialog loads the previous and current HTML side by side, highlights key changes (such as title, meta description, H1–H6, canonical link, and internal or external links), and lets you Copy HTML from either side to analyze it elsewhere. View Diff only appears when both a previous and current version of the page are recorded.
What to expect
Your site is crawled periodically to check for content changes, so new changes appear in the feed as they're detected. If no changes have been recorded yet, you'll see a message that no changes have been found — and when your date range is shorter than 12 months, you can jump straight to View last 12 months to look further back.
